Welcome

Hi, my name is Hannah!

I have enjoyed working with people for a long time and have spent around 10 years working in a variety of therapeutic settings. While I studied for my psychology degree I helped to run a group supporting the emotional wellbeing of adults with learning disabilities through art and creative interventions. For four years I provided emotional support to children and young people with disabilities and chronic illnesses, as well as helping to run reminiscence therapy groups for adults with dementia. Currently I work for the NHS providing assessments and treatment for people experience mental health issues.

During my degree I took a counselling module and realised it combined all of the things I loved about psychology and working with people. I decided I wanted to explore it further and enrolled on a level 3 certificate, a 12 week course covering an introduction to counselling skills and theory, I enjoyed every aspect and applied for a Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Counselling shortly after. This 2 year course covered a variety of theories which I use in my work now such as Person centred counselling, Gestalt Therapy, Transactional Analysis and CBT which I have since gained additional qualifications in. All of these theories help to increase awareness, insight and bring about change. If you would like to know more about them and the way I work, please do feel free to get in touch

I am passionate about counselling and helping people to feel empowered to explore their lives, find their answers, develop new ways to cope and make changes. Life can be challenging in many ways and counselling can provide a safe space where you will feel heard and supported to grow

As your counsellor I will meet you where you are, listen and provide a safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and increase your insight and awareness

As my client you will be my focus, I do not believe that there is a one size fits all model of counselling, your experience is unique and we will work together to find what works for you
